The idea

FESCA brings together 23 associations from 18 European countries and does three things at once: it supports patients, educates the public, and represents patients' rights before institutions. The problem for every organisation like this is the same: there's a lot of content, the audiences differ, and someone who was diagnosed yesterday must not get lost among congress reports.

The build

I arranged the content around the three pillars the organisation defines itself by: health, education, protection. Every visitor starts from their own need. Patients and families go towards the national member associations and support materials; researchers and partners towards projects, clinical trials and the European Patient Survey.

Programmes and initiatives (FESCA Academy, World Scleroderma Day, World Congress, events at the European Parliament) got their own pages with dates, because the organisation's communication revolves around them all year. The member list works as an entrance to local support: from the page you go to the organisation in your own country.

The result

  • One entrance for 23 members from 18 countries, instead of scattered national pages.
  • Content separated by audience: patient, member, researcher, journalist.
  • Programmes and campaigns visible from the homepage, with dates and calls to take part.
  • A non-profit based in Belgium, the site is in English, for the whole of Europe.

If you have an idea worth doing properly, the first step is a 30 minute conversation.

No proposal and no pressure. You tell me what you're building, I ask the questions nobody has asked you yet, and by the end you know whether it's feasible, roughly what it costs and what the next step is. Whether or not we end up working together.
