What this costs and why I tell you before we ever talk.

So neither of us wastes the other's time. These are entry points, not a price list. The final proposal is fixed and comes after discovery, when we both know exactly what we're building.

Payment runs in phases, tied to deliverables, not in full up front. Scope, deadline and price are set in the contract before anything starts.

Scope

What's in the price, and what's billed separately.

This is why two quotes for the "same" job can differ by a factor of two. Check whether this holds in the quote you're comparing against.

Always included

  • Discovery and a written specification
  • Design and a clickable prototype before the build
  • Build, testing and launch
  • Mobile optimisation and speed
  • SEO foundations, metadata and analytics
  • Editing interface and a recorded walkthrough
  • Repository, access credentials and documentation at handover
  • 30 days of support after launch

Billed separately

  • Copywriting (I have people, a separate cost)
  • Photography and video production
  • Building a visual identity from scratch
  • Third-party licences and subscriptions
  • Advertising and running campaigns
  • Maintenance after the first 30 days (support package)
Questions about price

What everyone asks, and rarely out loud.

Because it would be invented. A price without understanding the scope is either too high so I can protect myself, or too low and then gets "corrected" later through extra invoices. I'd rather invest an hour in a conversation and give you a number that holds to the end of the project.

Projects are a fixed price, agreed before we start. Only consulting and support are billed hourly, where the scope is open by nature. If something larger comes up mid-project that wasn't in the scope, you get a separate estimate before I start on it.

In phases, tied to deliverables, not in full up front. The first part on signing, the rest by the phases set out in the contract. On larger projects that means you never pay much more than has been delivered.

No. Hosting, the domain and third-party licences are the only costs that keep running after the project, and they're listed in the proposal with an approximate annual figure. Nothing is charged without your prior agreement.

Then rent.webica.hr suits you better, where you build the site or shop yourself on a monthly subscription. It's my tool and I'll tell you that openly, instead of shrinking the scope until the work stops making sense. It is in Croatian.

Yes. If we go into a project after the consulting, the hours you paid for are deducted from the proposal.

If you have an idea worth doing properly, the first step is a 30 minute conversation.

No proposal and no pressure. You tell me what you're building, I ask the questions nobody has asked you yet, and by the end you know whether it's feasible, roughly what it costs and what the next step is. Whether or not we end up working together.
