The idea
A large share of the enquiries that reach me don't need a custom project. They need a site today, the budget is smaller and they have no problem arranging the content themselves. Instead of turning those people away or building them a project that's too big for them, I made a tool that does that job without me.
The build
Rent a web is a full web application, not a template: user accounts, generating a site and a shop, editing content, publishing on your own domain, plus subscriptions and billing. Everything that gets built once in a client project had to work here for everyone, without me stepping in.
Why this is here
Because it's the best proof of what I do for other people. The whole product, from the architecture and the database to the interface and billing, came out of the same process I use on client projects, only without a client to tell me where I got it wrong.
